Il nome evoca infatti, anche nello spettatore comune, alcune indimenticabili icone del moderno: la giovinezza di &lt;EM&gt;Un’estate d’amore&lt;/EM&gt;, la morte di &lt;EM&gt;Il settimo sigillo&lt;/EM&gt;, la vecchiaia di &lt;EM&gt;Il posto delle fragole&lt;/EM&gt;, l’illusionismo di &lt;EM&gt;Il volto&lt;/EM&gt;, il sacro di &lt;EM&gt;Luci d’inverno&lt;/EM&gt;, l’incomunicabilità di Il silenzio, la schizofrenia di &lt;EM&gt;Persona&lt;/EM&gt;, la malattia di &lt;EM&gt;Sussurri e grida&lt;/EM&gt;, l’infanzia di &lt;EM&gt;Fanny e Alexander&lt;/EM&gt;… Icone che rimandano immediatamente a un mondo di forme e personaggi universali, a una varietà di temi e figure che trascendono la loro specifica matrice geografica per farsi metafora di una condizione umana unanimemente condivisa. È davvero impossibile non riconoscersi nella rappresentazione, ora grottesca, ora tragica, ora sorridente, di un vissuto, com’è quello bergmaniano, esplorato in ogni piega esistenziale e in ogni risvolto poetico, fino alla scoperta della sua più intima origine, che è sempre onirica. Dalla prima stupefazione infantile per i mirabili effetti della lanterna magica, alla matura, estrema frequentazione di un io costituzionalmente abitato da fantasmi, Bergman non ha fatto altro, per tutta la vita, che interrogare le mitologie del sogno, le suggestioni dell’irrazionale. Di queste mitologie e suggestioni, questo libro intende tracciare una cartografia esaustiva, in virtù della quale il lettore possa ritrovare, di film in film, le molteplici direzioni di lettura, puntando ogni volta verso nuove convergenze e nuovi percorsi.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P align=justify&gt;&lt;FONT face=Arial size=2&gt;Tredici film in quarant’anni da &lt;EM&gt;La conversa di Belfort&lt;/EM&gt; (&lt;EM&gt;Les anges du péché&lt;/EM&gt;, 1943) a &lt;EM&gt;L’argent&lt;/EM&gt; (1983), tutti ispirati a un unico grande tema: l’eclisse del sacro. Con una straordinaria coerenza ideale, sostenuta da un’altrettanto straordinaria coerenza stilistica, Robert Bresson, ha attraversato le diverse stagioni del cinema francese del dopoguerra rimanendo rigorosamente fedele a se stesso e a una personalissima idea di cinema assoluto, totalmente immune dalle mode e dalle tendenze (inclusa la nouvelle vague, che, se mai, con film come &lt;EM&gt;Un condannato a morte è fuggito&lt;/EM&gt; e &lt;EM&gt;Pickpocket&lt;/EM&gt; il regista contribuì a influenzare). E totalmente immune anche dai compromessi con le convenzioni cinematografiche consolidate. Scarnificando il linguaggio filmico, essenzializzando la scrittura fino a ridurre la «pagina» a uno spoglio alfabeto di gesti e sguardi, Bresson ha fondato, almeno a partire da Il diario di un curato di campagna, un proprio metodo e un proprio codice figurativi, incidendo profondamente e irreversibilmente nella vicenda delle forme e delle strutture narrative del cinema come arte. Film come quelli citati, o come i successivi &lt;EM&gt;Au hasard Balthazar&lt;/EM&gt;, &lt;EM&gt;Mouchette&lt;/EM&gt;, &lt;EM&gt;Così bella così dolce&lt;/EM&gt;, &lt;EM&gt;Lancillotto e Ginevra&lt;/EM&gt;, disseminati con estrema parsimonia nel corso degli anni da un regista che ha sempre concepito ogni film come un aspro esercizio di ascesi, hanno scandito le fasi salienti di una ricerca via via più accanita e radicale, la ricerca di una misura interiore, etica e religiosa, che coincidesse puntualmente con una misura formale, altrettanto netta e irribucibile.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

Queste celebri conversazioni con il regista, raccolte poco prima della sua morte dal saggista cinematografico Rui Nogueira, da tempo irreperibili anche in Francia, sono uno degli esempi più felici di quel particolare genere letterario costituito dall'incontro tra critico e autore di cinema. Precursore riconosciuto della Nouvelle Vague, artista solitario, produttore indipendente e regista di successo, autore di tredici film, la maggioranza dei quali va annoverata tra gli indiscussi capolavori del cinema francese, Jean-Pierre Melville, in pagine di sorprendente forza e originalità, racconta all’amico Nogueira, di film in film, tutto il suo “folle amore” per il cinema, vissuto prima da spettatore, e poi da studioso e creatore con l’intensità del mistico, i mille eventi e personaggi di mezzo secolo di cinema, il meticoloso apprendistato al suo particolarissimo mondo dartista, la “costruzione” del film come opera d’arte.&lt;/FONT&gt; &lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P align=justify&gt;A distanza di oltre mezzo secolo dalla sua prima parziale edizione italiana (Einaudi 1949), riproponiamo in una nuova traduzione questo illuminante saggio sul creatore di Charlot scritto da Sergej M. Ejzenstejn. Iniziato nel 1937, il testo avrebbe dovuto far parte di un libro rimasto incompiuto, Metodo. Il grande regista russo nutrì per l'intera vita un affetto profondo per Chaplin, che ebbe modo di conoscere di persona durante la sua trasferta a Hollywood nel 1930, e una stima senza confini per l'uomo e per l'artista. «Genio dall'occhio ingenuo e insieme sapiente aperto sulla vita,» dice di lui Ejzenstejn «maschera teatrale che uccide con il riso», tra i grandissimi maestri dell'eterna lotta della satira contro le tenebre, alla pari con Aristofane, Erasmo da Rotterdam, Rabelais, Jonathan Swift e Voltaire».&lt;BR&gt;Integrano una ricca appendice iconografica e un ampio apparato sulla vita e l'opera del creatore di Charlot, con filmografia e bibliografia ragionate. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>morte e rinascita del cinema</title>

&lt;P align=justify&gt;Questo è il primo libro di cinema pubblicato dall'autore: fin dal titolo si evidenziano i due poli sui quali s'incentra questa appassionata lettura critica dell'opera in due capitoli di Quentin Tarantino. La morte e la rinascita del cinema attraverso le sue ceneri, come l'araba fenice (e come la protagonista del film, Beatrix Kiddo), vengono a fondersi in una lettura che diviene il leit-motiv dell'ultima opera cinematografica tarantiniana, della quale l'autore si dichiara apertamente un vero e proprio fan. L'analisi di Giallonardi attraversa il sottile confine che delimita la vera e propria analisi filmica dal racconto, sottolineandone gli aspetti più o meno tematici, dell'opera cinematografica; muovendosi tra questi due poli di riferimento, l'autorialità e la spettatorialità, Giallonardi riesce a proporre numerosi spunti interpretativi che vanno ben al di là di "Kill Bill vol. 1 e 2", pur ponendo al centro del testo l'interpretazione dell'eroina del film come metafora cinematografica di tutta l'opera tarantiniana, suggerendo come proprio da una forza centrifuga nella mescolanza dei generi cinematografici (con relative citazioni), possa venire la costruzione (dopo la distruzione) di un cinema nuovo, che si ponga come obiettivo di riscoprire la sua capacità mitopoietica all'interno della società contemporanea.&lt;/P&gt;

Allo stesso tempo, però, l'autore si preoccupa di specificare le giuste coordinate culturali in cui si inserisce l'opera di Kane al fine di evidenziarne la distanza dai cosiddetti 'nuovi arrabbiati', categoria più volte apertamente rifiutata dall'autrice stessa e 'inventata' dai media ansiosi di collocare Kane in un contesto di facile e immediata definizione. &lt;/P&gt;

Per la stesura della sceneggiatura di "Eyes Wide Shut" ci sono voluti due anni. Due intensi ed estenuanti anni in cui Raphael scrive, discute, segue indicazioni che cambiano all'improvviso. Soprattutto, conosce l'uomo Kubrick, al di là dei suoi film, nelle indecisioni e debolezze, negli sbalzi di umore, nella riluttanza a concedere spazio alla creatività altrui. Basta pensare a lui, perché la cerimonia del film riacquisti significato, perché il rito dello spettacolo ritrovi quella dimensione di profondità che oggi sembra negletta dietro tecnologie fantasmagoriche o piatti linguaggi di scuola. Uno scrittore francese, Le Clézio, nella prefazione alle Note sul cinematografo che il regista pubblicò nel 1975, ha sottolineato "la necessità dell'economia, ma anche la voluttà della creazione" del cinema bressoniano, quasi a indicare una co&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; mso-ansi-language: IT; mso-default-font-family: Arial; mso-ascii-font-family: Arial; mso-latin-font-family: Arial; mso-greek-font-family: Arial; mso-cyrillic-font-family: Arial; mso-latinext-font-family: Arial; language: IT; mso-hebrew-font-family: Arial; mso-arabic-font-family: Arial"&gt;mplementarità inscindibile tra la sua decisa semplicità e la ricchezzza di un'immaginazione sempre viva, fra il rigore giansenistico dello stile e la coerenza di un'ispirazione, che nessuna lusinga economica è mai riuscita a piegare. E' noto del resto lo sdegnoso rifiuto che oppose a un produttore italiano determinato a finanziare una sua narrazione biblica, dalla genesi alla torre di Babele, quando ne intuì le intenzioni spettacolarmente commerciali. Ora La creazione, mai girato, rimarrà un irrealizzato progetto come il celebre Cristo di Dreyer.
